Virginia Tech had No. 17 Tennessee on the ropes with a 14-0 first quarter lead, but the Volunteers responded with 31 unanswered points on their way to a big 45-24 win in Bristol, Tennessee, Saturday night.

Tennessee rallied in front of the biggest crowd to ever watch a college football game as 156,990 people packed into Bristol Motor Speedway.

Volunteers quarterback Joshua Dobbs made plays when it mattered most, throwing for 91 yards while running for 106 to complement five total touchdowns. He spearheaded a Tennessee offense that piled up 330 yards against the Hokies’ stingy defense.
