Michigan 41, Illinois 8—Final

The No. 3 Michigan Wolverines smacked the Illinois Fighting Illini 41-8 Saturday afternoon in a Big Ten clash.

Wilton Speight completed 16 of 23 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns, helping Michigan race out to a 31-0 lead at halftime. The Wolverines improved to 7-0 (4-0 Big Ten).

Meanwhile, Illinois fell to 2-5 (1-3) while Jeff George Jr. recorded his first career start. He finished just 4-of-15, hitting Malik Turner for a 43-yard touchdown to help the Illini avoid a shutout.
