With six minutes left in the first half of the Arizona Bowl, Air Force was in serious trouble. The favored Falcons were giving up multiple big defensive plays and couldn’t move the ball, trailing South Alabama 21-3. Then, it all changed. The offense clicked through the air and on the ground, and the Falcons defense clamped down on the Jaguars offense.
The result? Air Force scored 42 consecutive points and took a 45-21 win over South Alabama in Tucson. The Falcons finished 2016 at 10-3, while the Jaguars lost their second bowl game in as many tries and fell to 6-7.
