No. 17 Wisconsin used a 15-2 run to begin the second half to pull away from No. 22 Syracuse for a 77-60 win on Monday night at the Kohl Center in Madison.
The Badgers (6-2) entered the season 0-2 against teams ranked in the Top 25 but got strong performances from Ethan Happ, Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes to secure the win.
Happ led all scorers with 24 points to go along with 13 rebounds.
Koenig, who came into the night just 1-of-11 from three in the last two games, dropped six from long range and finished the night with 20 points.
Hayes finished one-point shy of a triple double with nine points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
