Frank Mason III nailed a jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining to help the No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks clip the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils at Madison Square Garden.
Kansas recovered from a poor first half thanks to a surge from freshman Josh Jackson, but the team coughed up a seven-point advantage during the final two minutes. But then Mason, who tallied 21 points, saved the Jayhawks in the closing moments.
Luke Kennard scored 22 points to lead Duke, which was without freshmen Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles and Marques Bolden for the third straight game. However, the Blue Devils had bigger problems.
